Secret Santa!

 Here’s another Christmassy reveal for you - A portrait that I’ve been working on for a darling old school friend! She sent me a lovely photo of her partner and his son and I set to work! I do love a good suprise gift portrait! It’s been such an enjoyable project from start to finish, though the best part of this commission was getting to meet up with an old friend that I haven’t seen in 6 years! Cup of tea and two hours of catching up - Perfect!

Also, there are many things I would like for Christmas, but I really, really want a library! 

Why? Purely so I can make this;

Good eh? Do you think Santa will build me one?

I feel it’s about time for a more festive post, don't you?

I have been enormously excited about our Christmas tree this year! This is only the second Christmas we’ve spent in Lancaster and after having a minor disaster with a real tree last year, we decided to opt for an artificial one this time. Best decision ever! Come Christmas day, it will look just as pretty and green as it does now - there’s something about a dead, brown, bauble covered, twiggy thing that just doesn’t fill me with festive cheer!

 I’ve been working on a few covert festive projects recently but finally, I can reveal one of them! A couple of months ago, my sister-in-law, Lorna asked me to make a crafty little something for my brother, Rob’s birthday. His birthday is on the 30^th November and is always combined with Christmas decorating, so Lorna asked me to make some new, bigger stockings (for an even bigger kid) out of his old stocking, which we secretly fished out of a very hard to reach box on my last visit! The finished items are pretty huge so I there should be plenty of room for lots of goodies!
